Editorial policy and sources
Our aim is to make the underlying rules easier to understand and easier to check.
Sources and dates
We prioritise legislation, HMRC, GOV.UK, the FCA and MoneyHelper. Substantive pages link to the sources used and display a sources-checked date. Dates describe the review of the sources available then; they are not a promise that a future proposal will proceed unchanged.
What is law and what is planned
We distinguish enacted rules, measures already operating, consultations and government implementation targets. We update wording when verified information changes and review tax figures for each new tax year.
How content is prepared
This edition uses AI-assisted research and drafting, with source checks against the primary documents linked on each page. No independent professional sign-off is claimed. Calculators use documented assumptions and automated boundary tests; they simplify cases and cannot determine a person’s tax liability.
Corrections
If a page conflicts with current official guidance, use the official guidance and seek appropriate help before acting. Corrections can be sent to the publisher through the contact details on its company contact page. Include the page address and source of the correction; do not send personal financial documents.
Commercial independence of this edition
This site does not collect sales leads, match readers with advisers, sell financial products or use affiliate links. Editorial links explain and substantiate the information.
